Making a website is much easier than many people think. You don’t need IT training or extensive technical expertise. Nowadays, there are programs and services that make creating your own website as easy as writing a Word document.

Making your own website is the economical, efficient way to have a presence on the Internet. Not to mention, you have free reign over your own creativity. If you feel you don’t have the creativity it takes to build a website, most services offer design templates that you can use as a “cookie cutter” method to design a great looking, custom website that still reflects your company’s style.

There are professionals that charge an arm and a leg to build you a professional looking website. If you use a website designer, you will most likely have a hefty up front price tag (in the thousands of dollars). The other downfall to having a website designer is that every time you need to add something or make a change, you will be charged for it, not to mention you have to wait for your designer to find the time to work on your changes.

If you are willing to pay only a few dollars a month you can have access to a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) design program that allows you to make small and large changes when you need to, at no extra cost.

Depending on what your goals are, many website design services have extra services they provide, such as integrated advertising options, directory listing services, website submission options, and on-line store solutions.
