There are around 8 billion websites on the internet at any one moment, and many of them are all completely different. However, the big question we keep getting asked is how do we build money making website that is better than the rest?

The reality is that you cannot, but what you can do is follow a set of guidelines. You need to ensure that you optimize your site, at the very least it must be easy to use and focused solely on what it is meant to achieve.

• Know your audience – This means writing to your audience and not to your website. Think about whom you are writing to, what is your target audience? You want to target these people and make it so that it is exclusive to them.

• Length of paragraphs – The biggest rule about writing website content is to sentences and paragraphs as short as possible. People will click elsewhere if it is too much effort to read and is just a continuous script with no breaks.

• Don’t force things on your Visitors – If you have just made a sales site, then the quality of your content should be sufficient to sell your product. If you degrade your page with pop ups and unnecessary calls to action, you will lose trust and also customers.

The internet is a big place, so once you have launched your website do not expect a torrent of visitors overnight. If it were that simple, we would all be millionaires! You will have to do a few tweaks through testing to get the conversions you want.
